Frequently Asked Questions

General

How do I use Clarity's USB-A ports?
In order for your computer to access devices you've plugged into Clarity's two rear USB-A ports, you need to ensure your computer is:

Connected to Clarity via either:
  1. Clarity's USB-C port
  2. Clarity's USB-B port

  3. Clarity’s "Active USB" mode is set to the same USB port you've connected to your computer.

To change Clarity's "Active USB" mode, navigate to "USB Switch" in the "Other Settings" menu of Clarity's main menu.

For example: if your computer is connected to Clarity via USB-C, you would select "Type-C" in the "USB Switch" menu.
Does Clarity support VESA mounting?
Yes, Clarity is compatible with 100x100mm VESA mounts, and includes four mounting screws.
Can Clarity charge my laptop?
Clarity can charge USB-C laptops (compatible with USB PD) with up to 90W power. This is enough to quickly recharge most laptops, although some high-performance or gaming laptops require more power when under load.
How do I assemble my new monitor?
The following assembly instructions can also be found in your product manual.

Remove the stand stem and base from their protective bags. Slot the stem onto the base and fasten via the thumb screw underneath the base.Align the two latches at the top of the stand stem with the notches in your Clarity display, with the display still in the foam housing. Gently push the rear plate into Clarity, it will click into place.Lift your monitor out of the foam, ensuring the display's weight remains supported.

Troubleshooting

I've connected to Clarity via USB-C. Why aren't I getting any video?
In order to connect to Clarity via USB-C, it must be plugged into a USB-C port compatible with "DP Alt Mode" - or a Thunderbolt 3/4 port.DP Alt Mode compatible USB-C ports are sometimes marked with a "DP" symbol, but they are often identical to regular USB-C ports. If none of your USB-C ports have symbols next to them, you'll need to consult the product manual or the manufacturer's website to find out which ports are DP Alt Mode compatible. If your computer does not support USB-C DP Alt Mode or Thunderbolt 3/4, we recommend connecting via HDMI or DisplayPort. If your laptop does not support these, you can connect using an ALOGIC Universal Dock, which leverage DisplayLink technology to deliver video over non-DP Alt Mode USB-C connections.
Why can't I select HDR?
If you cannot select HDR (it's not appearing in the "Picture Settings" menu), this is likely due to one of two reasons:
1. You're connecting to Clarity with USB-C. HDR is only available when connected via HDMI or DisplayPort.
2. You're using the monitor in SRGB, Uniformity or Adobe RGB mode. Both of these video presets are designed to provide perfect colour reproduction over a limited colour gamut. HDR produces colours outside these limited gamuts and thus can't be used at the same time. You can re-enable HDR by switching back to "Standard" mode in the Professional Settings menu.
Clarity isn't switching between landscape and portrait when I rotate the screen!
If Clarity is not automatically switching between portrait and landscape mode when you physically rotate the screen, it is likely because the screen's "Gravity Sensor" has been disabled.Reenable this in "Other Settings" menu to use this feature.
Why isn't my laptop charging?
Not all laptop USB-C ports support charging using USB-C Power Delivery. Many laptops only support charging on one of their USB-C ports.
Ensure you connect the charging cable to a port on the laptop which supports charging.
Why aren't Clarity's speakers working?
In order to use Clarity's speakers, you must select "27F34KCPD" as your active sound output device in your computer's settings.Additionally, Clarity's speakers will not function if you have an audio device connected to Clarity's rear 3.5mm audio port.

Clarity's maximum refresh rate is 60Hz.
Clarity can be used at lower resolutions and refresh rates, although support depends on the host device (computer) the monitor is connected to.
Does Clarity support HDR?
Yes, Clarity supports HDR (High Dynamic Range) 600 output.
To enable HDR, open Clarity's Home Menu and navigate to Picture Settings, then HDR.
Clarity has three HDR modes you can choose from:
1. HDR

Very pleased

Couldn’t really justify the expense of an apple studio display 5k go with a new M4 Mac Mini so after lots of research opted for a Clarity 27”. Aesthetically it pairs brilliantly and the package looks even better than my old iMac. Height adjustment/Swivel/Tilt really smooth and has the feel of quality engineering. The display is pretty good and unless you need a 5k I’d defy anyone to find a 4k that beats the Clarity. Slight negatives, audio output isn’t great but I’ve paired it with a UE Megaboom so that’s now not an issue. Obviously no camera but i knew that before making a purchase. I’d narrowed down my choices between a Dell, a BenQ and the Alogic and I’ve got to say I’m more than happy with my choice.
Customer service also seems really good which is always an added bonus. If in doubt take the plunge you won’t be disappointed.

A well thought through product for daily users

This is my first 4K monitor, and it looks amazing. It feels very sturdy and well-built. However, the most important part was the attention to detail and the customer support Alogic offers. The monitor came with all basic attachments and cables that one can use to get started right away. There are also multiple plugs (in my case, Italian and Universal) for the power brick. 100% recommend

Good picture quality / poor Mac compatibility

For Mac users I would recommend going elsewhere for a monitor. The monitor produces good picture quality.
However, the monitor is very finicky, cuts out, and goes into sleep mode randomly. This is after sleep modes and energy saver settings have been adjusted on the Mac as recommended.

Great monitor, only minor issues

Panel's great, fantastic picture, design and general build quality is superb.

Main problem points are issues with the screen going into and getting out of power-saving mode, and the amount of play in the swivel hinge. The OSD menu for adjusting options isn't the best, it appears in a low resolution, some of the options are poorly laid out, and some of the options just aren't well-explained. However, once you've got the monitor set up how you like it, you shouldn't need to interact with it too much.

The glossy screen can cause issues if you're in direct sunlight or right next to a window, but it gets bright enough to comfortably work in the day.

Almost all of the time you won't notice the problems, once you're connected and working, there aren't any issues. It's a great picture, and the monitor itself looks fantastic, it's superbly designed.

The Power of Four

Replaced my iMac with a Mac Studio to get more screen real estate, after 48 hours of use Im really happy with my purchase.

The standard screen resolution is [lower] larger than I'm used to but I'm sure I will find the sweet spot as I adjust through them

but at nearly £4000 cheaper than four studio displays its a no brainer

I'm not a professional and my main app use is web browser and excel so I don't really test the system but for my work flow I love it!

Awesome monitor.

Stoked with my purchase. It's very sleek and nice to use. Saved a fortune instead of going Apple display. For what I need, it's awesome.

Brilliant monitor for my Mac Studio M2 Max

This is a great monitor that I bought to go with my new Mac Studio M2 Max that doesn’t break the bank. My only reservation is that the screen controls are hidden below the rim of the monitor, making the initial set up slightly awkward. However this shouldn’t detract from the actual everyday use. There are plenty of ports which make it a snap to set up and the quality of great for my primary job of photo editing. Unbeatable for the price.

good but there is con

The quality construction and shapreness ae very perfect but the color accurate has something a little bit special, i'll need to calibrate it. but the thing that make me considering the return is the refelction of the light ! the screen is like a mirror so if you have a windows close to you, this isn't the perfect choice
