Frequently Asked Questions

General

How do I use Clarity's USB-A ports?
In order for your computer to access devices you've plugged into Clarity's two rear USB-A ports, you need to ensure your computer is:

Connected to Clarity via either:
  1. Clarity's USB-C port
  2. Clarity's USB-B port

  3. Clarity’s "Active USB" mode is set to the same USB port you've connected to your computer.

To change Clarity's "Active USB" mode, navigate to "USB Switch" in the "Other Settings" menu of Clarity's main menu.

For example: if your computer is connected to Clarity via USB-C, you would select "Type-C" in the "USB Switch" menu.
Does Clarity support VESA mounting?
Yes, Clarity is compatible with 100x100mm VESA mounts, and includes four mounting screws.
Can Clarity charge my laptop?
Clarity can charge USB-C laptops (compatible with USB PD) with up to 90W power. This is enough to quickly recharge most laptops, although some high-performance or gaming laptops require more power when under load.
How do I assemble my new monitor?
The following assembly instructions can also be found in your product manual.

Remove the stand stem and base from their protective bags. Slot the stem onto the base and fasten via the thumb screw underneath the base.Align the two latches at the top of the stand stem with the notches in your Clarity display, with the display still in the foam housing. Gently push the rear plate into Clarity, it will click into place.Lift your monitor out of the foam, ensuring the display's weight remains supported.

Troubleshooting

I've connected to Clarity via USB-C. Why aren't I getting any video?
In order to connect to Clarity via USB-C, it must be plugged into a USB-C port compatible with "DP Alt Mode" - or a Thunderbolt 3/4 port.DP Alt Mode compatible USB-C ports are sometimes marked with a "DP" symbol, but they are often identical to regular USB-C ports. If none of your USB-C ports have symbols next to them, you'll need to consult the product manual or the manufacturer's website to find out which ports are DP Alt Mode compatible. If your computer does not support USB-C DP Alt Mode or Thunderbolt 3/4, we recommend connecting via HDMI or DisplayPort. If your laptop does not support these, you can connect using an ALOGIC Universal Dock, which leverage DisplayLink technology to deliver video over non-DP Alt Mode USB-C connections.
Why can't I select HDR?
If you cannot select HDR (it's not appearing in the "Picture Settings" menu), this is likely due to one of two reasons:
1. You're connecting to Clarity with USB-C. HDR is only available when connected via HDMI or DisplayPort.
2. You're using the monitor in SRGB, Uniformity or Adobe RGB mode. Both of these video presets are designed to provide perfect colour reproduction over a limited colour gamut. HDR produces colours outside these limited gamuts and thus can't be used at the same time. You can re-enable HDR by switching back to "Standard" mode in the Professional Settings menu.
Clarity isn't switching between landscape and portrait when I rotate the screen!
If Clarity is not automatically switching between portrait and landscape mode when you physically rotate the screen, it is likely because the screen's "Gravity Sensor" has been disabled.Reenable this in "Other Settings" menu to use this feature.
Why isn't my laptop charging?
Not all laptop USB-C ports support charging using USB-C Power Delivery. Many laptops only support charging on one of their USB-C ports.
Ensure you connect the charging cable to a port on the laptop which supports charging.
Why aren't Clarity's speakers working?
In order to use Clarity's speakers, you must select "27F34KCPD" as your active sound output device in your computer's settings.Additionally, Clarity's speakers will not function if you have an audio device connected to Clarity's rear 3.5mm audio port.

Video

What resolutions does Clarity support?
Clarity supports resolutions up to 4K (3840 x 2160 pixels) in landscape orientation or resolutions up to 2160 x 3840 in portrait mode.
Clarity's maximum refresh rate is 60Hz.
Clarity can be used at lower resolutions and refresh rates, although support depends on the host device (computer) the monitor is connected to.
Does Clarity support HDR?
Yes, Clarity supports HDR (High Dynamic Range) 600 output.
To enable HDR, open Clarity's Home Menu and navigate to Picture Settings, then HDR.
Clarity has three HDR modes you can choose from:
1. HDR
2. STANDARD
3. HDR MOVIE HDR DESIGN

We reccomend HDR Standard for regular use or the viewing of images, HDR Movie for enjoying HDR-compatible movies and video games, and HDR Design for work where colour accuracy is important.

Awesome monitor.

Stoked with my purchase. It's very sleek and nice to use. Saved a fortune instead of going Apple display. For what I need, it's awesome.

Brilliant monitor for my Mac Studio M2 Max

This is a great monitor that I bought to go with my new Mac Studio M2 Max that doesn’t break the bank. My only reservation is that the screen controls are hidden below the rim of the monitor, making the initial set up slightly awkward. However this shouldn’t detract from the actual everyday use. There are plenty of ports which make it a snap to set up and the quality of great for my primary job of photo editing. Unbeatable for the price.

good but there is con

The quality construction and shapreness ae very perfect but the color accurate has something a little bit special, i'll need to calibrate it. but the thing that make me considering the return is the refelction of the light ! the screen is like a mirror so if you have a windows close to you, this isn't the perfect choice

Love the Alogic Clarity 27"

Is working beautifully with my Mac Studio. Great size and colour profile/correction controls. So far as I can tell, it seems as good as the retina display on my old iMac.

Just an amazing monitor, Picture, build quality etc.

I was looking for a new monitor to function as a 2nd screen for my MacBook Pro, since the IMac I was using crashed and needed a complete new set up from factory settings.
I looked at what was recommended to go with Macbook and read many reviews and videos.

The Mac Studio display looks great but was just „over the Top“ for what i wanted to spend on a second screen.

Initially i looked at the Samsung M8 and Dell.
I did not quite like the design of Dell etc. and Samsung was also very hard to get.

Then I saw a review of the Alogic Clarity on YouTube.
This was exactly what I wanted, a Glass screen just like with mac (as i do not like the back up monitor I had which has the so usual Matt Finish screen).

The fact that the Alogic monitor and stand are so nicely designed and minimalistic but at the same time very versatile with Tilt, moving left and right and a 90 degree complete turn possibility.

I decided to go and purchase the monitor.
I went on the Alogic website and was in luck that there was a promo code for 25% ! Wow that made the deal even sweeter.

The delivery was fast and the packaging great!

Also, the monitor came with so many extra different cables for connectivity, all included, I never got that before.
The assembling of the stand to the mon itor was the most userfriendly i have seen in a long time, just one screw which had a handling piece attached so now tools needed, then just click the screen to the stand and Ready i was.

I connected the MacBook pro to the monitor with the USB-C and immediately it was recognized and set up as my previous iMac sscreen was.
I could remove my charging cable from my MacBook as the MacBook receives power from the monitor.

The color and contrast are amazing and so crisp and clear that i love working with it. I mostly use it for office work and reading of documents and analysis and it is so easy on my eyes.

I would highly recommend the Alogic Clarity monitor as the Picture quality, the design, used materials and versatility are just Top.

Thank you for the great service and fast answering of my questions regarding delivery to my country (in Europe) etc.

I am a happy customer and will highly reccomend the product and the company.

Thanks !

Not perfect, with pros and cons

Replacing a 10-yr-old Dell Ultrasharp 1200px monitor with an unknown brand was a gamble.

The pros:
• The glossy screen is great and not an issue if you don't have bright lighting behind you.
• Picture quality is super sharp and crisp. Love the punchy blacks compared to a matt screen.
• The stand works well and looks good.
• 100% RGB, and colours consistent with my other screens, ONLY after using a calibrator.

The cons:
• Really cheap sounding speakers, even when plugged into external speakers which makes them obsolete. For more base and controlling volume via the keyboard, plug directly to the computer instead.
• Control buttons are stiff and clunky. The menu disappears too quickly whilst you're still trying to find your way around!
• Need a calibrator for colour matching with other screens by different makes.
• Not as bright as expected and the viewing angles not great, which makes the edge of screen appear even darker unless I'm directly in front of the area of the screen.
• Higher energy usage compared to other screens with same spec.
• Issues with sleep mode. Takes a long time to wake and sometimes crashing my Mac if on sleep for too long.

The viewing angle and lack of brightness almost made me return the screen as the difference between the Clarity and my old Dell didn't seem that huge at first. But after calibration and a few days to get used to it, and for the price (with discount code)… I'm going to stick with it.

Glossy screen with great colors.

This is a great alternative to the Apple Studio Display. The port dock on the back of the monitor is great. Took me some time to set up the colors (which I knew in advance from other reviews). Not entirely sure why its default setting is so yellow and desaturated.

Once set up the monitor is quite beautiful. Incredibly rare to find a glossy/covered monitor at this price point. Good build quality. No complaints. I had scouted this monitor for a bout a year before purchansing and wish I pulled the trigger earlier.
