A great companion for my Mac Studio, works perfectly and easy to setup!

After a while of researching monitors for my 3d printing hobby, I came across alogic, I researched prices of iPads and monitors I decided on this monitor.
It is fantastic for what I needed, nice clarity of screen, sensitive to the touch, no lag detected, web cam works well and is nice and clear.
I also bought the matching foldable stand and stylus pen, it’s a great combination and I will give them a 5*

The Clarity Touch 27” Display is one of the best displays I have used. After much research and deliberation, I ordered a screen to go with my new Mac Studio. Unfortunately the admin side was the biggest letdown. Partly my own fault, but I did not realise the display was coming from overseas. As I had not entered my business name on the invoice, customs refused shipping into NZ without the invoice being reworked. Dealing with the freight company proved difficult. Thankfully a lovely and very helpful lady from the NZ branch took control to get what was needed to release the display.
The Clarity Touch worked straight out of the box so no need to even connect a keyboard to set up. There are plenty of ports to choose from at the rear of the display. Downloading the drivers was a little tricky and I had trouble with the pinch to zoom feature. Though, after I reread the information again it was straight forward.
If there was anything to improve it would be the webcam. When it pops up there is no way to rotate it down as it is stuck in a fixed position. If it had a gimbal this may work but it looks pretty cool tucked away. If Alogic upgraded the back panel to an aluminium one it would look pretty slick and site alongside the Apple Cinema Display in terms of quality. But this really is a great monitor and I am keen to acquire another at some stage.

My original order was delayed. No one let me know and I had to inquire after the monitors did not show up. The monitors were delivered without the laptop stand that I had requested. I was informed that a laptop stand would be sent on January 6th. The laptop stand was never shipped, and I am still waiting on a response from a email I sent on February 6th. Providing payment for the Two monitors was very time consuming and difficult, requiring multiple confirmations to process the order. It’s 2024 and it’s a shame that this is the sort of customer service you receive when spending over $2000.

Paired with a iMac mini m2 pro for my son who has limited mobility works fantastic allows him to use all the Mac minis features he loves it

So I've now been through the grinder of Alogic's abysmal support. Please note that if you use a Mac, support will blame MacOs for not supporting touch functionality, and they will offer no help in getting the touch screen to work beyond basic functionality. I have an issue of programs not fully distinguishing between one finger and two finger gestures, even though I can toggle between modes in the Commander app. This tells me the programs can indeed recognize the different commands, it's just the Touch Base driver is not delivering the commands properly to the program. Alogic Support has no interest in finding a solution, however. It's also not clear whether as users of the Clarity Touch monitors we can get support from Touch Base, since the license we have for the drivers is opaque, and despite asking on several occasions, Alogic support has also not clarified what our license is. My takeaway on this is: don't expect plug and play with the Clarity Touch Screen, don't expect any help from Alogic support in getting it to work, and expect a lot of frustrations with getting the functionality you want from the touch screen.

Pro's:

Con's:
-very long delivery time without any updates (e.g., reasons for delay of >1 month)
-for older Macbooks, an expensive driver for the touchscreen functionality must be purchased extra
-buttons below screen edge are difficult to reach

First the good things. I have the 27" touch screen. It seems well built. It works well with the Mac once it is set up. It turns on when the Mac turns on; it wakes from sleep without issue; it retains its settings. I've had monitors that do not work as well with Macs.

Now the less than good things. It shipped with an incorrect QR code that landed on a page not found. This is supposed to go to a page that helps install and configure the drivers. absolutely necessary for running the Clarity Touch Screen on a Mac. The page is available on the British site.

The Clarity Touch Screen uses Touch Base drivers, and Alogic has no manual or tutorial other than that blog post on the British Site about how you go about setting it up. I've found it very quirky. It seems determined to confuse one finger and two finger gestures. I want to use it in Logic Pro to scroll the screen using two fingers and draw automation with one finger. If I configure UPDD Commander, I can get it to do one or the other but not both. The two finger commands repeat the one finger commands. I've tried to get support to help with this. First, they deflected, blaming the software. When I challenged them on that, they set up an appointment with a different support person, but that person missed the appointment. This is not the first appointment that was missed by the service people.

In any event none of this should really need to be handled through support calls but requires instead a decent manual for how to configure the Clarity Touch Screen with the Touch Base drivers, and they need some tutorials for how to adapt the monitor to different work flows. If they are going to lean as heavily on the Touch Base drivers to run the basic functionality of the monitor, they also need links to the manual for those drivers as well as guidance in how they work with the monitor. I would recommend developing several different configurations and talking through how they work.

As I said, the monitor itself seems very good. And the Touch Base software, though with some quirks and not straightforward to implement, seems solid. But it is NOT plug and play, and the defaults are not even especially optimal. Clarity Touch Screen will require you to learn how to configure the Touch Base drivers to get the screen to behave as you want using touch gestures.
